Kazakhstan’s imports of non-oil products from Azerbaijan have more than doubled in the first four months of 2025, reaching a total of $34.6 million, according to Trend.
Data from Kazakhstan’s Customs Committee reveals that this figure represents a 2.1-fold increase, or $18.1 million, compared to the $16.5 million worth of non-oil products imported during the same period in 2024.
During this period, Azerbaijan’s non-oil exports to Kazakhstan accounted for 3.24% of Azerbaijan’s total exports, positioning Kazakhstan as the sixth-largest destination for Azerbaijan’s non-oil goods.
Overall trade between the two countries reached $265.7 million between January and April 2025, a dramatic increase from $178.4 million in the same period in 2024. This total represents 1.57% of Azerbaijan’s overall trade volume.
Azerbaijan’s exports to Kazakhstan amounted to $34.8 million, a 1.1-fold increase of $17.9 million, while Kazakhstan’s exports to Azerbaijan skyrocketed by 3.3 times to $230.9 million, an increase of $160.6 million.
In total, Azerbaijan’s foreign trade in the first four months of 2025 reached $16.9 billion, a 24.1% increase over the previous year, reflecting a $3.3 billion rise. Exports accounted for $8.7 billion, while imports totaled $8.13 billion. Compared to the same period in 2024, export values grew by $616.1 million (7.5%), and imports rose by $2.7 billion (48.8%).
Azerbaijan recorded a trade surplus of $651.7 million, although this marked a $2.1 billion (4.15 times) decrease compared to the same period in 2024.
Additionally, it was previously reported that Kazakhstan’s oil transit via Azerbaijan reached 3 million tons.
