Thai police, in coordination with Vietnamese authorities, arrested a 30-year-old Vietnamese woman known as Miss Ngo—wanted under an Interpol red notice—in a Bangkok hotel on May 24. She is accused of running a $300 million forex investment fraud scheme.
Police also detained two Vietnamese men, identified as her bodyguards, for overstaying their visas. The operation was led by Pol. Lt. Gen. Witthaya Sriprasertpap, Commander of the Crime Suppression Division, who conducted the raid in Watthana District.
Vietnamese police had tracked Miss Ngo as a key figure in a criminal organization that lured over 2,600 victims with fake investment platforms offering returns of 20–30% per month. These scams mimicked legitimate stock or crypto trading and used influencers and public seminars to gain trust. Victims could initially withdraw small profits, encouraging larger investments—before all contact was cut off.
Investigators found the network was managed by a Turkish national with 35 Vietnamese associates and over 1,000 staff. It operated 44 fraud centers across Vietnam and Cambodia.
Miss Ngo admitted involvement and said profits she received were laundered through real estate in Vietnam. She also revealed how funds were transferred via nominee accounts and converted in Thailand to evade detection.
She is now in custody pending extradition to Vietnam.
